Legislation Concerning Special Education and Our Students

Special Education continues to be high on the legislative radar. Governor Inslee's SB 6014  to increase the current special education enrollment cap from 15.0 percent to 17.25 percent, has been heard and adopted by the Senate Early Learning & K-12 Education Committee.  It's companion, HB 2180, has been passed by the House Appropriations Committee and currently sits in the House Rules Committee waiting to be acted upon.

Both these bills would reduce the gap between what school district are spending on special education and what the state is providing.  These bills are very important for the education of our students.
