Available Director District 5 Position

The North Beach School District Board of Directors are seeking candidates to fill the vacant Director District 5 position.  All citizens who are registered voters and who reside in District 5 are invited to submit a biographical sketch as well as a statement about their interest in being a North Beach School District board member, by August 15, 2022 to Board Chair Steve Rockey

The appointed candidate will serve until the next regularly scheduled board election in 2023, at which time they will need to be elected for the unexpired term until 2025.

Depending on the number of interested candidates, the week of August 16-19, 2022, a special meeting may be needed for interviews.  On August 23, 2022, the Board will appoint the successful candidate, who will be sworn in at the September 20, 2022 meeting.

The legal description for Director District 5 is as follows:

Starting at the intersection of southern Bayou Canal and the Grand Canal.
Northwesterly through the Grand Canal to Bell Canal.
West onto the Bell Canal and Point Brown Ave SE.
South on Point Brown Ave SE to Seagate St SE.
Southwest on Seagate St SE to Wawoma Ave SW.
North on Wawoma Ave SW to Razor Clam Dr.
Southwest and northerly on Razor Clam Dr. to Butterclam St SW.
West on Butterclam St SW and extension to the school district boundary.
Counter-clockwise on the school district boundary to the eastern extension of Wakina Loop SE.
West on extension and Wakina Loop SE and continuing west on an extension of Wakina Loop SE into Duck Lake.
South through Duck Lake to Bayou Canal.
Southerly through Bayou Canal to the point of the beginning.
