Superintendent

SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS
Richard Zimmerman

Dear North Beach School District Community,

Welcome to the 2025–26 school year! My name is Richard Zimmerman, and I am excited to be starting my second year as your Superintendent. It continues to be an honor to serve this wonderful community, and I am looking forward to another exciting and productive year ahead.

As we begin this school year, one of my ongoing goals is to ensure that we are responsible stewards of our resources while providing our students with excellent educational opportunities. We remain committed to equipping our dedicated staff with the tools they need to meet the diverse needs of all our students, ensuring that every student has the support and resources to succeed.

This year also brings several important projects that will benefit our students and community. At the Junior/Senior High School, work is underway on a new roof and air handler system to keep our facilities safe and functional. Construction will soon begin on the Vertical Evacuation Tower at Ocean Shores Elementary, providing a critical safety feature for our students and community. In addition, the District Office will be relocating to the recently acquired site of the future Pacific Beach Elementary School, creating a permanent home for district operations on the North Beach side of the district.

We are also pleased to welcome two new principals to our district leadership team. Liz Cronin is now serving as Principal of Pacific Beach Elementary School in addition to her roles as Special Services Director and Teaching and Learning Coordinator. Scott Lincoln joins us as the new Principal of Ocean Shores Elementary School, bringing with him years of administrative experience and a strong commitment to students and families. Together with Wendy McCoy, who continues to lead North Beach Jr/Sr High School, we have a talented and dedicated team of school leaders ready to serve our students.

We will continue to provide many opportunities for community involvement throughout the year. I encourage you to regularly check the district website and the North Beach School District Facebook page for updates and ways you can participate.

With new leaders, new projects, and a shared commitment to excellence, this promises to be a year of growth and progress for the North Beach School District. Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership—together, let’s make the 2025–26 school year our best yet!

Warm regards,
Richard Zimmerman
