Jennifer Simmons

I am so excited to be the Social-Emotional School Counselor for North Beach Middle/High School. Working with students and their families is exactly what I want to be doing. Over the course of my career, I’ve been a health educator, case manager, counselor, and mediator. In this position, I get to do it all.

My goal is to ensure that every student feels valued, and supported in following their dreams. I am available for individual, group and family counseling. I am a certified parenting instructor, substance use prevention professional and health educator. My areas of specialization are suicide prevention, substance misuse and trauma informed practices.

I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. I have three children aged 18, 21 and 23. My husband (North Beach School District Band Director) and I have an 18 acre hobby farm in Thurston County and a wonderful condo here in Ocean Shores. We split our time between the two homes. The ocean is a magical place that brings me a feeling of connection to the larger world. Growing up, my family would bring me clamming and to ride our horses on the beach. Now, the beach connects me to you.

My office contact number is listed above. I am usually at the school M-F 7:30-3:30.  You can also call my cell phone at 360-660-5132. On Facebook you can reach me through the Resiliency Promotion Team. The Resiliency Promotion Team (RPT) is dedicated to promoting connection and wellness for North Beach students and their families.

Resiliency Promotion Team activities include:

  • Social and Recreational Events
  • Volunteer Opportunities
  • Resource Acquisition and Distribution
  • Student, Staff and Parent Enrichment
  • Community Building

 Clothing Closet

North Beach School District is also pleased to be able to offer a Clothing Closet for all students in need. Donated gently used clothing is available to students and families at all three schools. If you have clothing to donate or are in need, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the school counselor in your child’s building.
