Where are you from? - I am from Kennewick, WA. I grew up there and love this opportunity to live FAR away from the desert! I have also lived in Pasco, WA (across the river from Kennewick and part of the Tri-Cities). I think my favorite part of growing up in the Tri-Cities was being surrounded by the Columbia River. I am excited to live near the ocean and closer to mountains! 

High school and college experience - I graduated from Kennewick High School, Class of 2007. I then attended WSU Tri cities while working as a para educator. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Education with an Endorsement in math and started working as a math interventionist K-5. I am officially starting my Masters in Science Education this fall! 

Years of teaching - I am starting my 5th year as a teacher! My first two years were as a math interventionist at Amistad Elementary (where I attended elementary school) and my 3-4 years of teaching were with 5th graders at the same school. I am excited to get back into MATH education! I miss being a math nerd and am looking forward to being at the HS.

How would you describe yourself and your hobbies and interests - I would describe myself as a complete nerd! I grew up with Star Wars and Star Trek as the go to thing to watch. I became a band nerd in middle and high school. I am pretty techy, so I would be a computer nerd. I am a math nerd too! 

I love hiking, camping, beach walks, and adventures! Taking my camera everywhere is my jam! I don’t have many pictures of myself as I am always behind the camera and love every minute of it! My family is a huge part of me and I love all the time I spend with them and enjoy all the outdoor activities we can do together.
