National Board Certified Teacher PAEMST Finalist, 2017 BS in Microbiology / University of Washington Masters in Education / City University

Ms. Michele Chamberlain

Michele’s adventures as an educator began 18 years ago in the Kent and Sumner-Bonney Lake school districts, and this is her 4th year in the North Beach School District.  She is excited to be working at Ocean Shores Elementary- in the same community she calls home.

A National Board Certified science teacher since 2010, Michele brings her love of science and STEM - that’s science, technology, engineering and math, to her 5th graders at OSE.  This year she will be working to create an after-school STEM program that will create learning opportunities for elementary students to explore various aspects of STEM education in a hands-on setting.

Michele was born in Aberdeen, and spent a large portion of her childhood in the woods of Northern Idaho where her adventuresome parents built a log cabin nestled in the backwoods bordering the St. Joe National Forest. Her love of nature and the outdoors inspires her to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of our coastal waterways on her kayak.   A published author (“Voices From the Middle, 2019), Michele is currently collaborating with a local photographer to capture a scenic vision of Ocean Shores from the fresh waterways.

She lives in Ocean Shores with her amazing husband Ted (who is also a teacher at OSE), and their three dogs. Together they share 4 children and 4 grandchildren.

She is inspired daily by her students, and she believes in keeping learning real and relevant for them.
